Abstract

The region of Caroá is located in the rural area of Carnaíba, a municipality in the Sertão do Pajeú
- PE. Young women from the region created this project, with the objectives of consolidating
a group in the community, strengthening knowledge and conservation of natural resources.
The Project is coordinated by Helenice, who is a cursista in the Training Program of Young
Peasants Family Farmers. During the experiment, we learned techniques of agroecological
cultivation of several species of plants used in animal husbandry, in addition to experimenting
with traditional management in the community. Water is treated with great care in this semi-arid
region, so that it can last through the entire dry season. The memories and traditions of the
communities strengthen the territory and the youth, being fundamental for the rural succession.
The Quilombola youth of Caroá can teach us that without feminism, there is no Agroecology,
because it is necessary that there is respect in social and gender relations.
