Green manure is one of several agroecological management practices that improves soil quality and keeps agroecosystems more productive over time. The inoculation of legume seeds with diazotrophic bacteria is a technology that can potentiate the development of these plants. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the inoculation of black and gray mucuna, forage and crotalaria pigeon seeds with diazotrophic bacteria on the development and accumulation of biomass of these plants, in Argissolo Amarelo, located in a rural settlement area, in the extreme south of Bahia. It was observed that the inoculation of crotalaria and forage pigeon benefited the production of fresh mass and root growth, respectively, even in times of rainfall. Among the species used a crotalaria presented greater weight and more nodules in the roots, however the mucuna preta was the one that measured greater root length in relation to the others.
