Abstract

Responsible Consumption Groups (GCRs) are collective organizations that unite the demand for quality food with the need to dispose of rural communities, providing a direct relationship of who produces with who consumes. The objective of the experiment reported here is the income generation of a collective composed mainly of women farmers from the pre-settlement Elizabeth Teixeira of the Landless Workers Movement (MST), in the municipality of Limeira - SP. The collective sells agro-ecological food through "fair-quota", which allows the consumer to choose products within a weekly limit value, and also for ready-made baskets. As a result, the fairs were essential for the consolidation of a collective organization of the producers and for the mobilization of the consuming public, however, the commercialization of the food in the basket format, provided greater independence of the producers in relation to the supporting groups.
