Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the use of different substrates and light conditions on the production and quality of Euterpe oleracea seedlings. Four substrates were studied (soil; soil + coconut fiber; soil + carbonized rice hulls and soil + fiber + hull), and two levels of luminosity (full sun and 50% brightness). The arrangement was in a 2x4 factorial scheme, in a randomized block design, with four replications. The substrates and luminosity influenced the growth and quality of açai seedlings. It is recommended to use the substrates soil + fiber + hull under full sun and soil, soil + hull and soil + fiber under 50% of luminosity, as these promote açai seedlings with higher quality.
