Abstract

The production of quality seedlings is one of the most important stages in the cultivation of vegetables. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the application of different sources of algae extracts on the production of sweet potato seedlings. The experimental design was completely randomized, with 5 treatments and 3 replicates. The algae tested were Lithothamnium, Sargassum, Kappaphycus and Hypnea. At 30 days the content of chlorophyll a, b and total, number of leaves, root number, fresh matter of the aerial part, fresh matter of the root and dry matter of the shoot and root were determined. The algal extracts did not influence the phytotechnical parameters evaluated in the production of sweet potato seedlings.
