Abstract

The agroecological practices together with the scientific / popular knowledge has been developed, it has been defined as a new productive paradigm, as a constellation of sciences, techniques and practices for an ecologically sustainable production in the field and with this arise new technology and consequently the improvement of the plantations, without neglecting the concern in preserving the ecosystem in which they lived. The family agriculture, in which it is responsible for 80% of the food that comes to our table, has experienced agroecological practices in its plantations in the expectation of improving and optimizing the productivity, with the use of natural inputs, thus reducing the expenses with the production and a reduction and even the extinction of external inputs, bringing greater autonomy to producers and above all producing a healthy diet for human consumption or to be negotiated. The students of the Higher Technologist of Agroecology course and the NEP (Núcleo de Estudos em Agroecologia) of IFPB (Campus Picuí Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology), located in Seridó Oriental Paraibano, developed this work with the objective of analyzing the activities and practices (agroecological) developed by the farmers in the crops of Seridó and Curimataú paraibano in the harvest of 2019.
