Abstract

From the problematic that historically imposes itself, the negation of rural youth in their decisions,
this paper had as objective to reflect on how the Agroecology can influence rural youth
as a social category in their choices among remaining or leaving the countrified with tools
that allow it to glimpse different perspectives for the affirmation of their identity, and how this
choice identifies it as a subject in transformation to new territorialities. Such reflections arose
from a dissertation defended in the year 2015, from a study carried out in an agrarian reform
settlement. The group of young subjects of the research participated in the research with results
analyzed from their mobilization in several themes, among them Agroecology. Among the
methodologies tools used for data search and analysis, the focal group proved to be efficient
for the discussion about Agroecology as a perspective of autonomy and affirmation of identity.
