Abstract

The Brazilian legislation dealing with organic production in Brazil stipulates three mechanisms
that allow the marketing of products and qualifies them as organic. The Social Control Organizations
(OCS) in one of these mechanisms, but it is not an easy task to register with the supervisory
organ. In the state of Amazonas, the Maniva Network Agroecology acts in the promotion
of agroecology and organic production and advises groups of farmers to register as OCS. The
agroecological approach conducted in the constructions of the OCS Renascer Group was
of significant relevance, as it provoked reflections about not only the production system and
the commercialization, but also generated interference in the configurations of life projects of
young farmers. This differentiated behavior encouraged young people to be and do together,
guided by the possibility of applying agroecological principles, as a science that underpins a
new paradigm of rural development.
