The presente of the past in the construction of the territory and in the life trajectories of the youth from “Assentamento Primeiro de Junho”

Since 2016 it has been developed a “pesquisa-ação” with a group of young people from Assentamento
Primeiro de Junho (Tumiritinga/MG). In this paper our aim is to understand the
relationships between the life stories of local youth and biocultural memory, trying to identify
how this relationships strengths or not their links with the territory. We realized that biocultural
memory acts like a conductor line in the construction of their comprehension of the world, in
the perception of their territory and in their decision of leaving or staying in their Assentamento.
So, we identified how Agroecology and “Educação do Campo”, while they value local knowledge,
influence youth life projects and contribute to become peasant territory stronger.
