Agroecologia e protagonismo social: modelos alternativos de produção agrícola no município de Porto da Folha/SE

Abstract

The ecological crises and socio-economic unsustainability of grass-roots production methods underpinned by the principles of the Green Revolution are sharpened by discussions about replacing "modernized" conventional agriculture with production methods with the environment free of natural resources and committed to food sovereignty. This study had the purpose of analyzing the production of agroecological foodstuffs among farmers of the municipality of Porto da Folha/SE. The methodology is based on literature review and field research. The results of the research point to the growth of activities associated with the paradigm of agroecology, activities by groups of workers linked to rural settlements, the Afro-Brazilian community and women farmers' associations.
