In the development of Agroecology new teaching approaches are necessary. Thus, here we
report the challenge of building the exchange of knowledge on the curricular component of
Agricultural Expertise in Ecological Bases, a course in Technology in Agroecology of the Federal
Institute of Brasilia (IFB). As a group of students and teachers together with the settlers.
The methodology of the work in order that the students can know the reality of the settlers and
their practices in search of sovereignty and food security. They also contribute to families in
processes that are collectively constructed based on a sequence of practical interdisciplinary
activities, within the agroecological vision, relating to food production and the quality of life of
