Coexistence with the semiarid: experience of a young peasant in the community of Barreiros de Ibitiranga, Carnaíba - PE

Abstract

The coexistence with the semiarid is a paradigm adopted by some institutions that work with
rural extension and this has transformed lives of entire communities in the territory of the Sertão
do Pajeú, in the state of Pernambuco. This report is about an experience of the pedagogical
team of a project of training in agroecology with young peasants, developed in partnership
by UFRPE, PJR, Centro Sabiá and FETAPE. Start for the reflection about the rural extension
practiced by organizations of the civil society in the scope of the strengthening of the organization
and the struggle of the peasants, mainly of peasant youth.
