Abstract

The objective of this work was to investigate the association of sabiá and mesofauna of the soil in three systems (planting of sabiá, capoeira plow and capoeira after cutting and burning) in different stages of plant succession. Samples were collected in the rainy season of 2017 in several municipalities of Maranhão. The mesofauna was captured by the dynamic microarthropod method using a Berlese funnel. During the triage were extracted and identified 3,850 individuals distributed in 10 groups. The highest occurrences were: Auchenorryncha; Heteroptera; Diptera; Hymenoptera and Coleoptera. The edaphic mesofauna was sensitive to verify changes in the management, type and age of the vegetation cover, the areas with sabiá showed higher density of individuals constituent of the mesofauna indicating a lower degree of environmental disturbance and greater availability of food to these organisms.
