The course proposes to strengthen the identity of peasant youth, offering theoretical, instrumental
and practical training to young farmers in the Paraiban territories, promoting sustainable
agrarian development. In this way, after the accomplishment of the same one, the objective
was to verify if in fact the participation in the course resulted in a significant way in the life of
these young people, and to what extent the accomplishment of the same will impact in the
future actions of these in their communities, if such knowledge Will be passed on to others, as
well as discussing their conception of how it was to participate in such an experiment. Thus,
interviews were conducted that addressed issues relevant to the students’ experience before
and after the course. Observation and follow-up of course facilitators and educators also
cooperated for the outcome of this diagnosis. However, it can be observed that everything
impacted very positively, where the students could see their territories for a more critical look,
valuing their cultures, local knowledge and providing the strengthening of peasant identity, giving them the opportunity to see the true Place of the youth in the field and its importance for the preservation of these knowledges. This critical eye allows young people to see the full
economic potential of their communities, thus inhibiting the desire to migrate to the city for lack
of opportunities and allowing them the power of choice between getting and leaving.
