Institutional markets and promoting maroon agricultural ecological

Since the early 2000s, the Food Acquisition Program - PAA and the National School Feeding
Program - PNAE has become important tooling in promoting family farming ecological basis. In
the Ribeira Valley Paraná, since 2010 these two programs have contemplated the participation
of Remnant of Maroons Communities and Traditional Maroons Communities. This summary
to analyze how the integration of these communities to the PAA and PNAE has influenced
the construction of agro-ecological transition processes. For that was performed field and
documentary research on the subject held between March and August 2013, associated with
complementary participant observations, performed in March 2015 and April 2016. The main
results indicate that the inclusion of the Maroons to the PAA and PNAE contributed the promotion
of agro-ecological transition processes, participatory eco-certification and integration into
regional trading networks.
