The importance of “Universidade da Vida Project” for agroecology dissemination on Nossa Senhora de Lourdes State School

Abstract

The Project “Universidade da Vida” borns through a partnership between the academics of
several courses of UFMT sinop campus and the Hihg school Nossa senhora de Lourdes. The
objective is to integrate the university and the school and encourage the scientific thought
through the agroecology. Two axis of acting were settled: environmental education and sport,
culture and recreation. On the axis of environmental education, the workshops of afforestation
and recycling sharpened the curiosity of the children about living in a cleaner environment.
The axis of sport, culture and recreation stimulated the sport through the ping-pong, basketball,
karate and judo. On the same axis, the reading and poetry workshop stimulated the habit
of reading through the music and texts indicated by the children. Updating the agroecology
language, the project helped the school on the development of discipline, interaction, critical
sense and commitment of the children with the school environment and their future.
