Abstract

The paper deals with public policies for adapting to climate change in rural areas, in order to
understand the role of rural actors in the design of adaptation strategies, as well as to analyze
public policies in terms of protection. Of the productions and the means of life of farmers,
for which qualitative and quantitative methods were combined. The results show insufficient
adaptation actions in the studied community and the ones that they do not form part of a family
strategy before the effects of the climatic change; The local government does not promote
public policies adjusted to the different conditions that are observed in the agro-ecosystem of
Monte Alto.
