Abstract

The Pequeno Willian Settlement is located in Planaltina - Distrito Federal, in a region characterized by savannah formation that mixes typical Cerrado and dense Cerrado. Currently, the area is divided into 22 lots, beside the legal reserve, which occupies about 46% of the total Settlement area. Through an action research developed by the Núcleo de Estudos em Agroecologia - NEA Candombá, between 2018 and 2019, a survey of plant species present in the Cerrado area of Pequeno Willian was carried out. From this research, we weave, in this work, reflections on the relations between the peoples and the biome of the Cerrado, pointing it as a human artifact. In this sense, it is understood that its current configuration is the fruit of human action in the course of long-lasting history. This issue is relevant to agroecology insofar as it highlights landscapes as a result of the imbrication between human activities and the environment, composing at the same time places and ways of life.
