Abstract

The objective of this work is to evaluate the behavior of MOS in different soil cover in the semi - arid region of Pernambuco. In a Haplic Cambisol, 5 treatment areas with different soil coverages were determined at MOS. 4 samples were taken in depth 0-10 cm. MOS was determined by muffle incineration at 600 ° C for 6 hours. The results were submitted to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to the Tukey test at 5% of probability. The ANOVA showed a significant statistical difference at the 1% probability level in the "F" test for the MOS contents as a function of the soil cover. Thus, the SO of the soil shows a decreasing trend towards Native forest> agroforestry> degraded pasture> pasture> consortium in the order of 28.93%, 42.98%, 44.08% and 46.52% respectively. The MOS matter is similar to a small soil cover. As the changes in the base reduce the MOS content. And, agroforestry of MOS contents superior to the other agroecosystems
