Mutirão in the rural land occupation “Elizabeth Teixeira”.

Abstract

As part of the activities of the 6th University Conference to Defend Agrarian Reform (JURA), an experiment was carried out in the form of a mutirão in the rural land occupation “Elizabeth Teixeira”, in Limeira / SP. Facilitated by the Motyrõ group, from the Laboratory of Environmental Education and Public Policies - Oca / USP, the focus was a reform in the school of the community, a space of socialization and affirmation of the community. The activity sought to involve the subjects by promoting the exchange of experiences, a collective solidarity action, and reflections on the struggle for Agrarian Reform. The activity was organized based on the demands of the community, where it was possible to hold conversation wheels with a communal breakfast, renovation of the windows, door, plaster of the wall, external and internal painting and general school organization. The mutirão became significant for those involved, generated the interaction and involvement among multiple social realities, promoting self reflection and affectivities.
