Abstract

This paper presents the experiences of agroforestry systems (AFS) deployments by the National
Program credit line for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf) Forest in settlements
located in Southeastern Pará, in 2006, prepared by the Banking Service Cooperative. These
projects aimed at restoration of areas of legal reserve and permanent preservation from the
establishment of community nurseries, training courses, among other actions. Twenty two Pronafs
forest with AFS were implanted. There were problems with the purchase of seedlings, lack
of irrigation and difficulties of financial agents in the release of the credit line. This report aims
to support the technical assistance institutions with evidence to seek solutions to the identified
problems, aiming to bring success to future projects with AFS.
