Urban and peri-urban agriculture encompass activities of food production in urban environments. The objective of the present work was to analyze the seasonality in the use and occupation of land in the EREMCC Community Garden, Petrolina - PE. The information was collected in the months of August 2018 and March 2019, being obtained by means of the spatial measurement of the cultivated area, allowing an estimation of the limits and the calculation of the total area of the space. In addition, GPS and ArcGIS 10.2 and AutoCAD software were also used to systematize spatial information and create a thematic map. It was verified that the vegetable garden occupies an area of 6,200 m², and in August of 2018, 73% of this total was not cultivated, being occupied by spontaneous plants, which indicates a great unexplored area for production and / or other uses. In March 2019, a 35.71% increase in food production was observed, with most of the beds being cultivated with cabbage, coriander and lettuce. Such mapping may contribute to the development and structuring of urban agroecosystems with land tenure and productive security for families.
