Abstract

The agroecological settlements project (PAA), located in the extreme south of Bahia, counts on the technical team of field to develop some experimental actions with agroecological principles, in order to adapt management techniques of the main crops cultivated by settled families and crops with potential of commercialization in the region of the Extreme South of Bahia, in front of this scenario, using participatory methodologies in the construction of the new rationality of the agroecology the present work had the objective of realizing the implantation of five experimental units of the protected cultivation of watermelon in the PAA with principles of the methodology peasants and peasants, applying two main cultural treatments, the non-woven and non-woven cultivation in the sun, analyzing the development of two varieties of watermelon in Manchester and Crimson Sweet, where it was possible to evaluate factors that influenced the production
