Abstract

The search for better living conditions in the countryside permeated the trajectory of many farmers
affected by different public policies in Brazil and the Amazon region. However, reach and
its effects can only be estimated by plunging into their life histories. In this way, we tried to relate
the productive experience of a couple of agricultural immigrants from Ceará, trying to relate
it to the public policies that reached them and shaped their ways of life and food production.
The strong influence of policies of national integration, agrarian reform and organic production
for their quality of life was evident in their trajectory, as well as contributing to their protagonism
in the process of empowering family farmers in the region.
