Abstract

The present report seeks to share an experience gained with the construction of a herb spiral and present it as a conjugated social tecnology, as well as to present the results obtained in this process of knowledge construction.

The Herb Spiral, a social technology was systematized from the Extension Project Social Technologies to promote food security and sovereignity – Exchange of experiences in the coast of Paraná, in order to encourage the multiplication of the same in the national territory. The Project is being linked to the Agroecology Technology course of the Federal University of Paraná(UFPR – Setor Litoral), Matinhos/PR. This technology was studied, developed by the members of the Project and socialized with students, farmers technicians and educators. Being an ancestral healing base, the conection with the symbolic and spiritual functions of Agroecology, at the same time, it has a theoretical base focused on the geometry of the fractals found in nature. We have used the herb spiral to promote the planting of medicinal, aromatic, condiments,ornamental and pancs(unconventional food), plants.
