Survey of the agricultural production of farmers of Agrofeira, agroecological fair of the municipality of Garanhuns in the Agreste of Pernambuco.

Abstract

The growing demand for healthy products has boosted the marketing of organic and agroecological products, today there are exclusive fairs for this type of market, which is constantly expanding. The objective of this study was the survey of the animal production of producers participating in the Territorial Fair of Agroecology and Family Agriculture (Agrofeira) held in the municipality of Garanhuns in Agreste Pernambucano, seeking to understand the expectations and obstacles of agroecological animal production. The producers already have the declaration of social control organization, which certifies the agroecological production of the vegetables they sell, through the Ministry of Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA). However, it became clear that subsistence production is prioritized and that the minimum surplus is for commercialization, but at the end of this work farmers were perceived a promising and potential vision for future commercialization of animal and its derivatives.
