Abstract

Ensuring access to water is extremely important for the promotion of the agroecological transition. As a result, public policies and government programs converge to achieve this goal, such as the One Earth and Two Waters Program (P1 + 2) and the National Plan for Agroecology and Organic Production (PLANAPO), created with the purpose of operationalizing the National Policy of Agroecology and Organic Production (PNAPO). Thus, this article aims to analyze how agroecology is present in P1 + 2, from the insertion and execution of this program in the context of PLANAPO. The methodology adopted was the review of the literature and the collection of secondary data. The results indicate that between 2013 and 2017, 171,292 tanks for food production have already been implemented throughout Brazil. Thus, in order to promote the agroecological transition, the convergence of multiple instruments of action and of integrated policies is of paramount importance, as was the case with PLANAPO and P1 + 2.
