Abstract

In the Ximenes settlement, Barreiros - PE, a group of women farmers was created with the objective of empowerment and autonomy faced to their agricultural activities. Within this context, the objective of the research was to evaluate the processes of social organization and commercialization, besides verifying the insertion and the challenges in accessing public policies. The evaluation was made through the analysis of strategic indicators within the economic, social and environmental dimensions, being related to the existence of marketing channels, collective actions, economic action of the group, activities carried out and level of autonomy. The data collected through semi-structured interviews were analyzed, the information was turned into numerical values, allowing to measure the levels of social organization and commercialization of the group, through the quantification of the information. The results indicate that the permanence and the autonomy of the farmers in the system of agroecological production is related to the viability of commercialization of the products and the strengthening of the group as a social organization.
