Abstract

The project is an initiative of works carried out at the Federal Institute of Pernambuco - Campus Barreiros, in the fruit growing sector where the need for productive diversification was verified, combining benefits for students and the environment through Agroecology. The aim of this work was to develop agroecological interventions in Citrus and Spondias areas and aimed to promote students' actions with agroecological practices such as pruning, weeding, crowning, using equipment such as boots, gloves, hoes, pruning shears and natural grouts. Agroecological techniques were adopted, seeking a better use of the existing natural resources, in order to maintain the productive area. In this sense, the project is expected to contribute to the agro-ecological knowledge of the students of the Barreiros campus, stimulating them to manage the area in an appropriate way and to depend on the minimum possible external inputs through agroecological practices.
