Abstract

Rural settlements of the agrarian reform of Maranhão - MA, hold important ethnobotanical patrimony, located in different biomes like Amazon, Matas de Cocais and Cerrado. The objective of this work is to socialize the most relevant information on the experiences of agricultural and forest seed management workshops, how to foment conservation actions and sustainable agroextractivist management, in four rural settlements in the MA. To this end, a workshop was carried out to identify species, focusing on the collection, processing and storage of seeds. As a result, it was possible to identify 58 forest species, with 12 use classifications, among medicinal, food, timber and ecological purposes, revealing the potential of building a seed bank and encouraging extractivism.
