Abstract

The presence of agrobiodiversity is an important factor for the management and sustainability of agroecological systems. The agroecological fairs have the potential to integrate income generation with the maintenance of agrobiodiversity in agricultural establishments. The aim of this study was to analyze the variety of products marketed and to evaluate the perception of family farmers about the participation in the fair and the expansion of agrobiodiversity in Lages, Santa Catarina. The methodology involved the application of structured questionnaires and rounds of conversation for joint evaluation between researchers and farmers. The results of this study show that were 63 different types of products among vegetables, grains, fruits, seeds, baked goods, sweets and dairy products. The perception of women and man farmers is that participation in the fair stimulates the expansion of agrobiodiversity.
