Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the profile of consumers and fairs of the Agroecological and Solidarity Fair of Praça da Alegria in São Luís - MA, in order to contribute to the strengthening of the circuit of fairs and agroecology in the State of Maranhão, in order to social and economic characterization of the parties involved. A descriptive field research was carried out with the application of the informed consent form (TCLE) and semi-structured questionnaires. The results showed that the fair consists essentially of women from the region of Baixo Munim who move agroecology and market products synonymous with health and quality of life. In addition, it has been found that consumers have a high level of education and are mostly women. Thus, the realization of the Circuit of Agroecological Fairs contributes to family farming, valuing peasants and food sovereignty.
