Public access policy to markets: the implementation of the PNAE in São José de Caiana-PB

The National School Feeding Program (PNAE) intends to supply the food needs of public school
students This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of PNAE in São José de Caiana-
PB and show their main obstacles. Semistructured questionnaires were applied to three
municipal school administrators, a state school manager, and the EMATER city technician with
questions directed to the evaluation of educational level, average age, time of performance as
a manager, time in the program, and Issues relating to the implementation of the program. And
questions relating to the main points concerning the implementation of the program. It was evidenced
that those involved in the research have professional qualification to execute the program
in the town; The program helps in a positive way for the development of family farming.
Among the positive points are the provision of healthy food to students and socio-productive
inclusion when referring to family farmers. Among the main obstacles were student’s transfer
values and climatic conditions.
