You in the field: visits to the agroecological gardens in Uberlândia/MG

Abstract

The activity You in the field aims to bring workers from the countryside and the city, through
consumer visits to the areas where organic farming is carried out. The action was proposed
by the Center for Incubation of Popular Entrepreneurs Solidarity of the Federal University of
Uberlândia, through the Center of Agroecology and Organic Production (NEA / Cieps / UFU),
and attended the consumers who attend the Solidarity Fair of UFU, reinforcing the process of
workers’ socio-referral that has been the object of the NEA / Cieps / UFU activity. You in the
field used participatory methodologies based on the principles of Popular Solidarity Economy
and Agroecology. The experience in the field brought them closer, as the groups exchanged
knowledge and saw that this relationship goes beyond production and consumption activities,
giving strength to the progress of the construction of alternatives for a greater use of production
and for solidarity between the workers.
