Abstract

The present work had as objective to raise and to report the experiences of agroecological
production of the family farmers who commercialize their products in the covered fair of the
municipality of Nova Xavantina - MT. A total of six farm were surveyed to carry out this type of
differentiated production. The instruments used in data collection consisted of questionnaires,
direct observation and interviews. Can be verified that the covered fair is an important space of
coexistence, commerce and consumption, nevertheless, still this place is little appreciated by
the population and producers. The lack of infrastructure and the rigidity of the inspection do not
bring attractiveness to the diverse family farmers of the municipality and this reflects directly
in the commercialization and acquisition of agroecological products of the familiar agriculture.
Public policies focused on production, consumption and marketing are essential for a greater
insertion of family farmers in the municipality of Nova Xavantina and in the region.
