Agroecological based rural tourism

Abstract

Considering the emergence of tourism activities in agroecological properties, as presented in
the analyzed scientific production, it is necessary to understand how the relationship between
agroecology and tourism occurs - this being the general objective of this work, focusing on
the perspective of the development of tourist activities in agroecological properties. The methodology
adopted consists of the documentary biographical research and the analysis of 10
articles that are consistent with the theme. The main results are related to the contributions of
the analyzed theoretical-scientific production, the identification of the main concepts and terminologies
used and the tourist activities that occur in the properties mentioned in the works. It
is concluded that agroecology can help in the construction of sustainable relations and a more
preserved environment, being a promising segment (and economic strategy) for the development
of tourism and the local community.
