The agroecology in the Promotion of Food Safety in the municipality of Lagoa de Itaenga-PE

Food security is affected by several aspects ranging from public policies to the organization of existing agricultural production and distribution systems. The research is the result of an analysis of food insecurity in households with individuals under 18 years of age, through the application of the Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale (EBIA), between August 2017 and November 2018, where the communities participated in the study , Marrecos, Imbé and neighboring sites in the municipality of Lagoa de Itaenga Pernambuco, with two replicates at intervals of 90 days. Through the research, levels of food security, mild and moderate food insecurity were identified, the latter being absent in the results in the second collection, as well as data on the production systems were collected. It was found that the development of agroecological practices and direct sales contribute to the increase of family income and access to a greater diversity of food
