Abstract

In the State of Rio Grande do Norte, especially in the West Region, the Chapada do Apodi - RN is located, where the Irrigated Perimeter of Santa Cruz will be installed, and which is currently being targeted by irrigated agriculture, and consequently, becoming an environment with socioeconomic and environmental changes, which compromise the quality of life of the traditional population of the region. From this perspective, the training course and qualification of environmental agents in the rural communities of Chapada do Apodi - RN was conceived and formulated with the objective of showing the agribusiness problems to local communities, with emphasis on socioeconomic and environmental impacts. During January 25, 26 and 27, 2019, the first module of the course was held and it was possible to share with the students a critical view about the exploration and concentration of natural resources, and how this may be associated with the difficulties of coexistence with the semi arid.
