Abstract

The present research aimed to characterize the diversity of ants present in different sampled areas and to evaluate their potential bioindicator. The Survey was carried out in the Río Pirangi settlement belonging to the municipality of Morros. The treatments consisted of different strategies for the management of capoeira for rooting, and five sample units (subplots): Traditional rooting (T1), Enriched rooting (T2); System of aliases (T3); Rotation with native vegetation (T4) and Rocido without fire (T5). Individuals were collected by the Provid Trap Method. It was identified 73 species of ants distributed in 16 genera for the areas sampled, with emphasis on the genus Pheidole the System of alleles (T3) differed significantly from the others.
