Socioeconomic characterization of the Folhal Seating in the Municipality of President Juscelino - Maranhão

Abstract

The present work had the objective of characterizing the main socioeconomic, cultural and environmental
aspects in the Follet Settlement in the municipality of Presidente Juscelino - MA.
Data were collected through a questionnaire composed of open and closed questions related
to the types of crops, household income, various or non-agricultural incomes, activities closed,
main problems and obstacles related to agricultural production. Secondary data were collected
through bibliographic and documentary research. It is concluded that even with specific public
policies for settlements are still not enough to solve so many problems, and agricultural and
non-agricultural activities need this link, because this expands the opportunities of families in
times of scarcity in the field.
