This work seeks, through the theoretical contribution of Axel Honneth's Theory of Reconciliation, to understand how the women of two quilombola communities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the Linha Fão community and the Júlio Borges community, carried out and reconstructed their identities in three social spheres: in the socioeconomic reproduction of the family, in the organization of community life and in the construction of the recognition of the community, be it "inside" and "outside" it. The work was developed through a bibliographical review and with interviews open to the women of the two communities. It was found that women play a central role in the reproduction of the social life of the family through domestic work and the production of food for self-consumption; work for the organicity of the community and for the preservation of their cultures; assume the political role of coordinating activities and participating in the spaces provided by public institutions.
