Abstract

The presence of beneficial microorganisms in the soil helps in the growth and development of plants, helps in the cycling of nutrients, avoiding the incidence of pests and pathogens, among other functions. The objective of this work was to analyze the influence of the addition of efficient microorganisms (EM) on the decomposition of corn and soybean residues in a consortium and singles. The experimental design was bifatorial with four replicates and the analyzes were conducted in the laboratory. The vegetable residues were dried and packed in raffia bags, on which the EM solution was irrigated. After 45 days the decomposed waste mass was calculated. As results, there was an increase in the decomposition rate as a function of the addition of EM in single soybean residues and in the soybean-corn consortium. It was concluded that the treatment of cultural remains with efficient microorganisms can alter the rate of decomposition depending on the type of residue
