Environmental education in a creative and fun way.

Abstract

Abstract: Environmental Education actions stimulate the reduction of the uncontrolled generation of waste, the degradation and the contamination of the Environment, improving the socio-environmental relations. Thus, aiming at the formation of a sustainable identity in Elementary School students, in the Zumbi dos Palmares Municipal School of Integral Time, in Maceió-AL, university extension activities were carried out with the aim of disseminating environmental awareness through sustainable practices such as composting, cultivation of organic vegetables and adequate separation of solid residues. With organic fertilizer composting, these were incorporated into vegetable gardens. The results obtained were: sensitization through practices carried out in schools, in addition to a significant decrease in the generation of solid residues and a large amount of organic compost from composting works in the courtyards of the school involved in the project.
