Abstract

The National Policy for Technical Assistance and Rural Extension - PNATER states that the
Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Service (ATER) should contribute to the promotion
of sustainable rural development, with an emphasis on endogenous development processes,
adopting a systemic and multidisciplinary approach , Through the use of participatory methods.
With this, it is fundamental to involve the active participation of the farmers as subjects
of the investigative process. For this, participatory methodologies were used, aiming at the
Participatory Rural Diagnosis (PRD) in the communities of Imbé, Marrecos and neighboring
sites - Lagoa de Itaenga / PE, in order to diagnose the biophysical and physical components of
the community, observing the interactions that exist In the community, analyzed from a gender
perspective. Women play a prominent role in the association, as well as in the space of the
family unit participating in the decision-making spaces, showing advances in the discussions
and practices that involve the gender perspective.
