Agroecologia e migração: produção de alimentos com migrantes venezuelanos no Cariri cearense

In the face of the economic and political crisis that has worsened in recent years, many Venezuelan families are coming to the different Brazilian regions in search of better living and working conditions. In this context, this report presents the actions carried out by the extension project of UFCA, whose general objective is to contribute to the process of reception, promotion and integration of the Venezuelan refugee petitioner to the different public policies available in the state of Ceará, especially in Cariri. To accomplish this goal, weekly visits are made to the migrants' home and direct participation in the actions of the regional migration committee. 05 Venezuelan families were welcomed by the migration committee who are residing in a house given by the diocese of Crato. Training actions and practical activities related to food production and agroecology are carried out weekly with the host families. It is a great cultural encounter between the local populations and the migrants, which, they promote deep changes in both.
