Experiences of agroecological extension in the Vale do Mangaval Settlement by Agronomy and Physical Education academics.

Abstract

The Núcel de Formação, Pesquisa e Extensão em Agroecologia – NATER, develops actions and activities of rural techniques, in the Mangaval Valley settlement in the municipality of Cáceres-MT. In the visits, one looks for to know the properties and the forms with which the farmers work. These visits are aimed at knowing the settlement, the families and the crops, as well as the breeding of animals and the availability of water in the plots, for the creation of partnerships and activities linked to the reality experienced daily. A registration of the families was made so that the NATER could understand the difficulties and problems of the settlement, regarding the production of food. Subsequently, experiments are carried out in which alternative models of production are discussed, such as the agroecological model, in which there is the insertion and involvement of the family in the productive process. The actions are justified by improving the quality of life of the farmers, when seeking to learn and practice Agroecology.
