Abstract

The objective of this work was to promote discussions about the use of medicinal plants under the agroecological aspect and their use as herbal remedies. For that, the participatory methodology was used, in which notes were made in field diaries, lectures, talk wheels and workshops with the purpose of retrieving the empirical knowledge about the use of medicinal herbs. Among the lecture and talk rounds, it was observed that the cultivation of medicinal plants are carried out in the backyards of the residences themselves, by means of flowerbeds, hanging gardens and use of plastic reservoirs as a reuse proposal, using animal. During the workshop, it was noticed that the medicinal plants are present in the daily life of the elderly, because all have exposed reports of use for therapeutic purposes (teas, infusions, lambedor, compressas) in which they try to teach recipes and indications for both the children and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the end of the workshop as a result of the actions, the participants proposed the preparation of sowing and production of seedlings of medicinal herbs for donation to the population.
