Abstract

This text seeks to describe the experience of an organic food producer in the city of Santarém -
PA. The choice of organic food production by the farmer and family reflects the ecological and
environmental awareness of those who have sought the quality and food, environmental and
nutritional security of the family and the consumer. The organic agroecological management
of the soil, the techniques learned and used and the organic food produced have attracted
attention and consumption of organic and non-organic customers in the municipality. This has
contributed to the valorization of family agriculture in the region, as well as highlighting the participation
of women in agriculture, understanding the need to recognize women in agricultural
production and their contribution to strengthening the local economy and consequently the
region.
