Abstract

Agroecology, from its multidisciplinary and pluriepistemological construction, recognizes that
there is a close relationship between the cultural and biological dimension, and demonstrates
and accepts that part of the knowledge about the functions and the management of agroecosystems
is in the hands of the farmers (women and men), thus recognizing the importance
of the gender approach. However, even today, as a product of an androcentric view, extension
services often consider only men as valid interlocutors. This paper presents a participatory
methodology that allows the identification of the presence of resistances to the incorporation
of the gender approach, based on the UNICEF classification.
