Keywords:
women, traditional knowledge, agrobiodiversityAbstract
The article provides a brief explanation about the contribution of the Apinajé woman in the
daily life of the villages, especially the work in the plantation with the various stages under
the responsibility of the women. The objective of this work is to present the management and
cultivation activities of indigenous women and the impact of these actions on the preservation,
maintenance and responsible use of the Brazilian cerrado. The situations mentioned were
observed during three years of interaction with the indigenous people, through participant observation,
allied to interviews and technical reports. I want to say that even without naming as
agro ecology, actions confirm this dynamic. In addition to presenting these women as “mothers
of the cerrado”, I present them as the main links in transmitting traditional knowledge to the
biome’s heirs generations, and a peculiar way of life, responsible, loving and harmonious coexistence
with the land, and all Its other occupants.
